Born to Shell Corn

Lincoln and I got a chance to do something really fun today that I used to do when I was a kid. Thanks to our great friend Dale, we were able to ride along with him in the combine as he shelled corn. After understandably being a little timid about getting in the combine, Lincoln loved it. He just watched everything and was amazed. And for the now 7 hours since then, all we have talked about is the combine and Dale and Grandad. We had a great time.

Happy Halloween

Our very own Music Man. Brock and I discussed what Lincoln would be for Halloween at the beginning of October, and were stuck. We had no idea what he should be. My dearest cousin Tiffany had let Lincoln play with a dinosaur costume (which you have seen video of in a previous post, so we thought that would work. As time got closer to the 31st, you know just the week before we were talking about it again, and my genious husband said--"Lincoln should be the Music Man." For those of you that don't know, Lincoln love the Music Man--the musical (that is a no brainer--it has music and dancing in it). We get home from work and he asks to watch it, there for a while anyway--now it is tractor, tractor, tractor. So we bought material to make him a Music Man costume. And the decision was made.

He made such a good music man!!! He loved it, and so did our family!!! Check him out!!!

October--Fall Fun

What a fun filled month it has been. The weather has been absolutely beautiful, God is Good!!!

Brock and I celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary at the beginning of the month :). Lincoln got to stay the night with his Uncle Kyle, and spend the next day with Gramps and Grams.

We had celebration at the Gelfius Farm a couple of weekends ago, to celebrate the end of the One Month to Live study. Lincoln had a great time, we had hot dogs, mac n cheese, dessert. And I think he had the most fun getting to hang out with Kathie and Laura. They are so good to him, and he loves it. At the end of the night we got to go on a hay ride, and check out the tractors and plows (which he LOVES).

We spent one weekend with Gramps and Grams, so Mommy and Daddy could go to the Covered Bridge Festival. The next day we went to breakfast for Uncle Andy's Birthday--he is gettting OLD!!! And that evening carving pumpkins at Grandad's. So Lincoln got to carve two pumpkins this year. Grandad's --Silly face pumpkin and at home a few days before Halloween--John Deere pumpkin. He did really well, he wasnt' sure at first, but seemed to get the hang of it ---not sure how much goop he got out, but at least he was trying. He was also able to help carve, by pushing the pieces out. Loads of fun!!!

21 Months

Flying by!!!! That is what time seems to be doing. I know you have heard it said many times before, but I just can't get over the fact that it is nearing the end of October.

Lincoln is growing up so fast. He brings such joy to our hearts!! We spend a lot of time outside, wagon rides, pushing his John Deere tractor, piling rocks in his dump truck, drawing with chalk, kicking the ball, among other things. He absolutely loves being outside, not sure how this winter will go--we will find something to keep us occupied.

He has fallen in love with his Sunday school class. We leave each Sunday talking about patting the Bible, and how we love Jesus. You ask him to sing and he does--at this point you can't always make out his words--but he is working on it.

He loves his pumpkin--a word said frequently at our house. And he is loving "Bob" from Veggie Tails, and the Music Man. We get home, from wherever, and he asks for "Man, man" or "BOB>" We usually tell him he has to wait until closer to bed time--and then we play, listen to music (which he loves to dance to and play the drums to--it is awesome).

A load of fun!!! We are having a ball, I will try to post another post soon--there are many pictures that I want to share--and the memories that go along with them.

What Fun We Have!!!

Loves His Corn

Well, we have told so many people how much Lincoln loves corn, and how well he eats corn on the cob. So we videoed him quite a while back and never got the video posted, so decided tonight during dinner to video him again. We had hamburgers, tator tots, and corn for dinner--i think this is one of Lincoln's favorite meals.

He is getting so big so fast. Just the past few days we have been focusing more on different words, and names of people. It is just awesome to see what he can grasp, and remember at such a young age.

WOW!! 18 Months Already!!!

Lincoln turned 18 months this past Friday. Unbelievable and awesome at the same time. Our little boy is really growing up.

This Summer is not over yet, I know, but it has been a great one with our boy. We have spent evenings at the fair, home playing outside, swimming in our alligator pool, traveling north to spend time with family, and so much more.

Lincoln had two doctor's appointments this week. On Tuesday we travelled to Carmel, to Riley. Back at the end of May we scheduled an appointment for Lincoln to see a GI specialist. Dr. Julie was great, we were tremendously reassured that Lincoln was doing well, and we had nothing to worry about. We go back in 8 weeks.


And then today we went to see Dr. Todd for Lincoln's 18 month appointment. Lincoln is 32 inches, 23lbs. and 5ozs. And to top it off, he received his
last two vaccines for a while (until he goes to kindergarten, which I know will be here before we know it, yikeso).

On another note Lincoln loves to watch, listen, and dance to the Imagination Movers. Here are a few pictures of him watching them. (Including the one above).



He also enjoys eating plums all by himself (as well as most anything all by himself these days, he is Mr. Independent).

Rolling like Uncle Andy

We visited the family this weekend. Saturday night we were with Stella's family. Lincoln's Uncle Andy was taking an exercise ball and rolling on it toward Lincoln, who thought it was the greatest thing. Tonight, as Stella was visiting friends, Lincoln found a balloon and decided he wanted to be like Uncle Andy...

Lincoln's Gator

Well, Summer is here and it is time to get a pool. So we did. Lincoln's Gramps and Grams bought him an alligator pool. We bought it on Sunday, and got it ready for him last night. He absolutely loved it!!!!!! Thanks Gramps and Grams!!! He loves the water, took him a little time to get use to it, but once he did--he was in and out and loving it!!!!!!

Going Swimming

We dumped all the balls out of the ball pit, and made it a swimming pool for Lincoln. Grams and Gramps came to visit and we had a great time. Grandad came to see us last night, we played outside, and went out to dinner (for a big meal), what a great couple of days!!!! More posts coming soon, of events from the past month. I am trying to get better, still not there yet--oh well. 16 months goes by so fast, there isn't much time for blogging it seems, I know excuses, excuses (ha ha).

Another Month--Wow How Big Link is Getting

Hello everyone. I love being able to post a video of Lincoln. I am learning more every day. I really need to post pictures from our trip to Florida, I will get around to that sometime soon. We plan to also have Lincoln's pics prof. pics taken this week.

He is doing new, exciting things every day. For instance he is trying to climb on the couch or things around the same height. He gives big hugs and kisses. We had great friends over the other evening and we go to their house every week for Bible study, so Lincoln has become great friends with the Chastain children--Ava and Hale. Well when they showed up at our house the other evening, he was in shock. He was so excited He love visiting and playing with them. When it was time for them to go home, he gave big hugs, not sure Ava knew what to think.

He is talking up a storm, and loves to be outside--which is awesome. A true boy--playing with rocks, in the dirt, and so much more (even chasing Daddy while he was mowing the other day, with Mom right behind-of course).

Well we had our 15 month update the other day-- 21 pounds, 10.5 ounces, 30 and 1/4 inch long. He is growing so fast, and is very healthy.

Playing in Suitcase

What fun we had in Sunny Florida!!!! We returned on Tuesday from spending the week with our wonderful friends Chad and Abbi. We love you guys!!! Thanks for the great week. I was taking a few minutes to unpack a few things last night and Lincoln decided to help.

Big Steps

Here he is!! Look at him go!! More and more every day, he is so fun to watch! And you will notice he has a spoon, one of his new favorite things to do is play in the kitchen, he has his very own cabinet to get into (tuperware, pots, pans, and such).

Lincoln is recovering from another ear infection, which is yucky, but he is doing great. He eats well, plays well, and is having so much fun. These past few weeks he has decided to walk, pull himself up, and so much more.

Brock taught me how to do the videos tonight, so you will get to see more soon, I am so excited.

Ready For Spring

Lincoln's First Big Snow

Well, it has been a month. It is time to get on the ball, and start blogging more often. We have had, what seems like a month or longer of someone in our home being sick, so we are ready for the warmer weather, ready to open the windows, play outside, etc. The pictures below are of Lincoln playing with my hat (what fun), one pic of him when he had mashed potatoes--and wasn't feeling great, and then one of him with greenbean on his nose and feeling rather well (Yay!!)




FEELING BETTER!!!!!!!

A couple of weeks before Lincoln's birthday he came down with some type of cold virus, cut some teeth, then cut some more, high fever , runny nose, lets just say we were ready for him to feel better. A few days before his birthday he started to feel better, which was great!!! Well not long after his birthday he decided to get sick again--he just didn't feel good, the poor guy. This time it was the teeth, but he also had a double ear infection.

Well for a little while we weren't sure we were going to see a light at the end of the tunnel. But friends we have made it and we pray we stay for a while. Lincoln is so full of energy now, he eats great (seems like all the time), he talks alot, he is back to playing alot with his toys (for a while there he just wanted to sit--which was nice to cuddle with him), and just yesterday he took big steps. A little while back, not sure of the date (I will have to look) he took a couple of steps. But yesterday when we picked him up from Joey's (his sitter) she had him walk to us from accross the living room. He was SOOOOO proud of himself, and we were SOOOOO proud of him. We cheered and he clapped for himself, smiling from ear to ear. So we will try to get video of it soon and let you all see what great new things Lincoln is doing, and what a big boy he is becoming (time sure is flying).

*****Oh and in between all this we had a BIG snow. So we bundled up and went out to play. We had a great time. Brock found an unused trash can lid to use as a sled--which worked great!!! We made snow angels, and went sledding. It was a lot of fun--for the short time we were out in it.

1 Year Old

Our boy is ONE. We celebrated Lincoln's birthday on Sat. Jan. 24th, which is his birthday. We celebrated with family and a few friends. It was a great day. Lincoln had been sick the week prior to his birthday. He had had a high fever, cough, runny nose, etc. (the worst he had ever been). So we were very happy when he started feeling better a couple days before his birthday. He still has a bit of a runny nose and a little bit of the cough.

We had the party at 4:00pm. Lincoln noticed all his gifts and move right over to them right away. So once everyone was there Lincoln started opening his presents. He did a wonderful job ripping into the paper. He received many ice things--new toys, clothes, books, etc. After about the third or fourth gift (maybe) he was ready to actually open the toys and play with them. So once he was done opening everyone pitched in and helped to open every toy he received. So we played for a little bit before getting the cake out. When it came time to get the cake out, we sang Happy Birthday and blew out the candles.

Lincoln's cake was a frog cake, and he LOVED it!! It was great!!! The rest of the time we played and visited with everyone. What a BLAST!!! Love you Lincoln!!

Christmas cont. & more

Good afternoon!! There have been so many exciting days these past couple of weeks. Lincoln will be ONE next week, wow. He has been blowing kisses, saying hi, waving bye bye, walking behind his John Deere tractor, crawling through his tunnel, building with his blocks (if that is what you want to call it), and doing so much these days.


On our last blog I spoke about the days before Christmas and Christmas Day. I didn't get to talk about Christmas with Grandad, Uncle Kyle, Uncle Brett, Aunt Mooch, and the girls. The day after Christmas we got up and went shopping in Columbus (Brock,Lincoln, and I). We found some pretty good deals. Then we headed home, to take a bath (Lincoln that is), pack up, and head to Grandad's.



We spent the evening with Grandad, Uncle Kyle, Uncle Brett, and Aunt Mooch. We ate some breadsticks from Amo, and played. The next day we got up and it was Christmas morning all over again, but in a different place with more people.


Lincoln received so many wonderful gifts. My favorite was his hat that he has that matches his Daddy's--Uncle Kyle made them. He plays all the time with his kitchen/living room set (it is the coolest thing). So I guess I really don't have a favorite. We spent time this Christmas reading the Christmas story to Lincoln, which IS the most important gift.

We had a big dinner on Saturday night, and stayed at Grandad's until Sunday. We headed home Sunday late afternoon----what a weekend to remember. Praise God for all our Blessings, and for being such an awesome God!!!!!

Christmas and The New Year

Good day to all of you. I realize a few of you are a little disappointed that this blog hasn't been updated for a little while, and for that I am sorry. We have been busy travelling, playing, and every once in a great while- relaxing.

Lincoln is 11 months old, Brock and I just can't believe how fast the past year has gone. Lincoln does new things to amaze us every day. We are simply in awe of him. Our God is so good!!!

We just couldn't wait for Christmas to get here, and to see Lincoln's reaction to all the excitement. We pray that as he matures and grows that he will continue in the excitement of Christmas for the real reason we celebrate--and that is because of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ (and that there is no greater gift).

We spent Christmas with Grams and Grandpa the weekend before Christmas--Lincoln made out well. He had a great time opening presents, eating the paper, playing in his brand new wagon, and just being Lincoln.

On Christmas Eve things were a little different this year. We are so use to going to one family's Christmas and then leaving there to go to another. We didn't have either of those on Christmas Eve this year--we were a little lost. So we took the day and headed up to visit with Grams and Grandpa for the morning and Grandad & Kyle in the evening. We had a great time!!!

I got super excited because we got to stay home on Christmas this year, not that I don't love being with extended family on this day, but let me tell you we had so much fun!!!

We all got up when Lincoln woke up. He had his bottle, and then we headed to the living room to check out what Santa had in store for us. Lincoln crawled right over to the tree and the gifts--but wait a minute--he wasn't interested in the wrapped gifts when he had a big giraffe and big dump truck with blocks to play with. He loved it. We played and opened gifts all day.

He was interested in the first couple of gifts, but after that forget about it, there were other things to play with (and besides any gift he opened he was more interested in the paper and the box, just like everyone said he would be). He was and is so much fun!!!

Grams and Grandpa came to visit in the afternoon, and we had a big Turkey dinner in the evening. Lincoln ate potatoes, turkey, corn, and all sorts of big people food. What a blessing he is to us.

And to think he will be a year old in a couple of weeks. Wow, that is all I have to say about that.
