Summer 2010

Why it has been an awesome summer so far. I started staying home with Lincoln after doing Holly's maternity leave (Apr. 19)--and it has been so much fun so far. We get to sleep in a little longer, make Brock breakfast (well most of the time ;) ), play in the pool, eat lunch with Brock, go to the library, and so much more. This past week we took a trip to Loretto, KY, Holiday World, and to see Uncle Andy and Aunt Shannon. Dad and Mom made the trip with us, and it was a blast!! Lincoln loved the water at the restaurant we ate at in Louisville, the airplane and boat rides at Holiday World, to see Toy Story 3, and we had a great visit with Uncle Andy and Aunt Shannon "didn't we?" This is the new thing Lincoln likes to say that we absolutely love.

Since we last posted our little boy has grown up a little-- he is now in a big boy bed. On Memorial Day weekend we went and bought him a new mattress and Toy Story comforter. He does very well in it. In the mornings he wakes up and says "come in, come in." As of right now he stays in the bed until one of us goes in to get him--we shall see if that lasts. He also likes to say " I got Woody Buzz" as he gets excited about his bed. We are very thrilled that he likes it so much.

Beep Beep

Well, it feels like Spring outside--or almost. We haven't had an opportunity to play outside the past couple of days, too busy for that--but have been able to enjoy it somewhat. We had the front door open this afternoon, and let some fresh air in--it was very nice indeed.

We went to the funeral home this morning for a dear friend, and as we were standing outside chatting with another great friend Lincoln was enjoying the traffic that was driving by. A couple of semi's drove by and one honked his horn for Lincoln. Oh boy was Lincoln excited, as soon as the truck honked Lincoln was saying "beep, beep," smiling, laughing, and moving his arm up and down (you know the honking motion you make when you want a semi to honk). It was the coolest thing. We love to see him get excited.

Last night we went to the musical at Columbus East. They put on a great performance of the 'Music Man.' Lincoln sat through the first half very well, and the second half he got a bit antsy. All in all he did very well, and really enjoyed it. As soon as the first seen started, with the men on the train, he shouted "MAN!"

Grandad and Kyle came down to visit with us this evening. We played and went to Baby Back Blues for some great BBQ. We had a great visit!!

Measured Lincoln this evening before giving him a bath--and he is around 34 inches. His mouth is full of teeth with a couple of more molars coming in. Growing, growing, growing :).

Glasses

Well we have had a wonderful week!! We spent quite a few nights at home, a night at Bible Study, and well I guess that is it. We enjoy weeks when things aren't so busy, they seem to seldom happen much these days, and that is okay too.

So anyway, as we were sitting at the dinner table the other night, and Lincoln was done eating--and waiting on us to finish, he asked for Brock's glasses. This is one of his favorite things to do these days. And Brock lets Lincoln look at them briefly. Well on this night I dcided to get my glasses out, and he was very excited to see Mommy wearing glasses as well, not something he is use to. So then what can I say, he asked for my glasses. And this is the result.

Lincoln is TWO!!!!

It is so hard to believe that our baby boy is TWO. We celebrated his birthday this past Saturday with family and friends. What a great day it was. Playing with all our new toys from Christmas, lunch, a nap, and family was here to celebrate the day with Lincoln. He was so very excited to have all of them here. We opened presents, had cake and ice cream, and played some more.

He enjoyed the presents that were toys, clothes on the other hand were not as popular. He cracks me up!! He didn't want to sit and open all of the gifts at the same time, he wanted to spread them out (just like we do on Christmas morning)--in fact the gifts from us were the the last for him to open and they didn't get opened until Sunday (on his birthday).

Well, we have new things to learn, new adventures to take and we look forward to them all. WE LOVE YOU SWEET BABY BOY!!! I know he isn't a baby anymore, but he will always be our baby!!

Christmas 2009

Wow, what have we been doing to allow this much time to pass since our last update. We are all doing very well. We had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends, spending Christmas Day here at home, oh the memories. Lincoln was sick on Christmas Eve, :( and therefore Brock and I were sick on Christmas night. We had a wonderful day Christmas day, just a stinky night. Dad and Mom had come down to visit and have a Big Christmas Dinner with us, and they ended up taking Lincoln home with them, since the two of us were sick. Lets just say that I was none to happy, I cried and cried.

On a more lighter note, on Christmas morning Lincoln woke up ready to start a great day. He came in and got in Daddy's bed, Mommy's bed. We snuggled for a bit, and then came out to see what Santa had in store for us. As soon as Lincoln entered the living room he found a gift (the largest wrapped gift) and ripped into it. He was so excited-- it was an airplane (Geo Trax airplane). "Out, out" he kept saying. For each gift opened he was ready right then to have it out of its box and put together. What fun we had, flying the airplane, putting Mr. Potato Head together, reading about Thomas, playing our guitar, playing with our Chitty car (for those that don't know Lincoln is in love with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. So all in all it was a wonderful day!!!!! God is Good, Happy Birthday Jesus!!!!!
